Train yourself in godliness, for, while physical training is of some value, godliness is valuable in every way, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
I Timothy 4:7b-8 (NRSV)
Remembering one another
Our sympathy and prayers surround Adjunct Instructor in History Katharine “Sammi” Lehman and her husband Dean on the death of their youngest son Scott, 27, on Christmas Eve. Scott died as the result of multiple head trauma suffered in a robbery attack. His death gave the gift of life to three people on Christmas through the donation of three viable organs. In addition to his parents, Scott is survived by three siblings, all alumni of Messiah College: Shane, his wife Katie Dempsey Lehman, Samantha Lehman Sheppard; and Seth and his wife Savannah (Stolzenburg) Lehman. The funeral was held on Dec. 30. The family suggests memorial contributions to Scott Knox Lehman Memorial Fund, c/o Daybreak Church, 321 Gettysburg Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
Lois Beck, associate professor of French and communication, had a review of “Devina,” a book by Alain Gordon-Gentil, published in the October issue of “The French Review.”
