The department of procurement office announces winner of naming contest 

The department of procurement is pleased to announce that a winner has been selected from the recent contest to name the new eProcurement system. Michael True, you’ve won! Utilizing your submitted name of OneSource, the graphic element was created to brand the new eProcurement system for the purchasing office. Please see this attachment for the new design.


Positions available:

Administrative Assistant for Graduate Program in Counseling — The graduate program in counseling currently has an opening for the position of administrative assistant. This is a full-time, 12-month, band 7C position. This position provides administrative and project support to the director of the graduate program in counseling. Responsibilities include acting as the first point of contact for visitors, faculty candidates and students; data entry; project and event coordination; assistance with practicum and internship coordination; maintenance of program website and a high volume of general support responsibilities. Education and experience includes a high school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree preferred and a minimum of two to three years of administrative support/secretarial experience is required. Other requirements include professional-level communication skills, including strong writing, editing, speaking and comprehension skills; ability to communicate successfully across departments and with various constituencies, including external contacts; strong organizational skills, including time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities; expert computer proficiency, including the ability to work independently in Banner, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook as well as understand basic web design and Sakai; ability to work independently on complex projects, managing significant portions with little or no oversight; and ability to effectively supervise student workers may be required. Purchasing Assistant, Part-time — The department of procurement currently has an opening for the position of purchasing assistant. This is a 25-hours-per-week, 12-month, band 7C position. This position supports processing functions of the department of procurement and provides administrative support to the director. Education and experience required includes a high school degree or equivalent and two years of administrative support experience in a procurement setting or two years of general bookkeeping experience. Other requirements include demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently with little supervision; ability to perform detailed-oriented work accurately and pursue issues and questions in a diligent fashion; a deadline-oriented and customer focused work ethic; understanding of procurement procedures and computer-based procurement processes and systems; and demonstrated competency in Microsoft Office Suite products.
