Farewell reception for employee June 22
Please join us for a reception in the Climenhaga Homestead from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday, June 22, as we bid a reluctant but fond farewell to Kristin Zummo. Kristin and her husband Mike are moving to Connecticut where Mike will be pursuing a position in engineering. Kristin has impacted the Messiah community in so many ways, first as a student and then as an employee in campus events, alumni and parent relations and most recently as director of the annual fund. She has been a wonderful and very tangible reflection of the mission of Messiah College and she will be deeply missed. Join us as we wish her and Mike God’s abiding direction and presence in this next chapter in their lives.

Director of Annual Giving — The office of development currently has an opening for the position of director of annual giving. This is a full-time, 12-month, administrative position. This position is responsible for implementing a comprehensive annual giving strategy as well as managing select marketing materials and communications for the development office. Education and experience required includes a bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing or related field; master’s degree preferred. Other requirements include four years of development management experience, including at least two years as the director of annual giving (preferred); expert understanding of annual giving and the ability to develop a strong case for giving to Messiah; highly polished oral and written communication skills; ability to develop strategic action plans to achieve goals related to giving and participation; ability to motivate team toward achieving annual fund goals; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to understand needs and priorities of the entire development office while simultaneously advocating for the importance of annual giving; and ability to recruit and train volunteers. IT Policy and Security Coordinator — The department of information technology services currently has an opening for the position of IT policy and security coordinator (this position replaces the previously posted position of ITS security analyst and project coordinator). This position is responsible to provide coordination of IT security initiatives, promote security awareness and compliance within the college community, develop and deliver corresponding training, and work with groups within IT that are responsible for user accounts and physical security of IT resources. Education and experience required includes a bachelor’s degree with coursework in information systems and two years of experience in IT security planning or monitoring, policy and/or procedure writing, and development and delivery of training. Other requirements include thorough knowledge of information security and privacy best practices; strong communication skills including the ability to deliver effective training in classroom setting; excellent analytical skills; proactive problem-solving approach; strong organizational skills, including time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities; ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others; demonstrated commitment to continued learning and professional development; and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
