Winter issue of The Bridge is available

What happens when alumni follow their hearts? The winter issue of The Bridge explores that very topic in a feature called “Leaps of Faith.” Our Messiah experts and alumni discuss the steps that lead to change.

Also, be sure to check out “Pieces of our Past” as we take a look at historical items from the Messiah College Archives.

Please be sure to view the magazine in its entirety at messiah.edu/the_bridge

Open enrollment for preschool 2016/2017

The Early Learning Center is pleased to announce our open enrollment for 2016/2017. We have full-day and half-day programs available to the Messiah College community and the community at large. We continually strive to use developmentally appropriate goals for young children as well as children’s interests as a framework for planning the educational program and assessing children’s progress in all aspects of the social-emotional, cognitive, spiritual and physical foundations necessary for later school success.

The Early Learning Center utilizes the Project Approach as a key component of its curriculum. This inquiry based approach allows children and teachers to engage in in-depth investigations of a topic or idea worth studying, resulting in the strengthening of academic skills and intellectual dispositions in an authentic manner. Children are viewed as capable, competent, curious and creative members of the classroom community. Interested parties please call the administrative assistant at 717-796-5043 or email earlylearningcenter@messiah.edu for further questions or to schedule a tour of the center. You can also visit messiah.edu/elc and complete an online enrollment form.

Zipcar is coming to Messiah College!

Wait, what is Zipcar? Zipcar is a membership based car-sharing service—an alternative to car ownership—that will give Messiah College students, faculty and staff 24/7 access to vehicles parked right on campus. The membership includes low hourly and daily rates, gas, insurance and 180 miles per day to get you to wherever you want to go! Members can reserve zipcars online or with a smart phone for as little as an hour up to seven days. Best part? You only have to be 18 years of age to join—international students included! Enjoy the freedom of having a car without the hassle of owning one. It is wheels with no strings attached! Find out more about how it works at zipcar.com/messiah or at the campus-wide launch event on Tuesday, March 15. There will be details to follow. In the meantime, check out the attached flier.
