Please celebrate the March publication of a new article on the use of a mindfulness group to help counseling students in Counselor Education and Supervision by Graduate Counseling Program Senior Lecturer, Lynn Bohecker. This article was the result of a study using grounded theory methodology and can be located by using the following citation: Bohecker, L, Vereen, L.G., Wells, P. C., Wathen, C. C. (2016). Messiah College Easter egg hunt

Eyas, the Student Alumni Council, invites you to join Messiah College alumni, employees and their families for the sixth annual Messiah College Easter egg hunt!

WHEN: Saturday, March 19. Check-in opens at 9 a.m.

WHERE: The Climenhaga Homestead, Messiah College

WHO: The egg hunt will be divided into the following four age groups:

  • 9-10 year olds [Start Time: 10 a.m.]
  • 6-8 year olds [Start Time: 10:10 a.m.]
  • 3-5 year olds [Start Time: 10:20 a.m.]
  • 0-2 year olds [Start Time: 10:30 a.m.]

Please register in advance at All children will receive age-appropriate treats found in their eggs. Refreshments will also be served at the Climenhaga Homestead throughout the event.

Get behind the wheel with Zipcar! Having a car on campus just got a whole lot easier. Zipcar, the world’s leading car-sharing service, is now at Messiah College! Two Zipcars are ready for reservations at outside of Larsen Student Union (in front of Hess Residence Hall on College Avenue). What does this mean? Students, faculty and staff now have access to wheels with no strings attached for only $15/year. Once approved, members simply make a reservation on Zipcar’s free mobile app and pay by the hour or day, 24/7, with rates as low as $7.50/hr. You only need to be 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license – international drivers included! Scan into the car using your Zipcard (the keys are already in the car) and drive away (just make sure to return the car back its home outside the Union, in front of Hess, at the end of your reservation)! School of the Humanities summer academic camps

This summer, the School of the Humanities will hold two academic camps. For the first time, we are having a Young Filmmakers Workshop on June 26- 30. This camp will provide college-level filmmaking skills for students in rising grades 10- 12. Students will leave with an understanding of how to be a writer, director, actor, cinematographer and editor. To learn more about this camp, visit the website For the fifth year, we will also have the Young Writers Workshop. This workshop will be held July 10- 14 and offers intensive courses in creative writing taught by published faculty and writers for students in rising grades 9-12. Messiah College’s semiannual shred day March 22

On Tuesday, March 22, Shredding Solutions will provide a shred truck on campus. The truck will be located in the service area parking spots located outside Hoffman Hall and will be available from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Please use this opportunity to purge your office/work areas of confidential documentation that has met its retention requirements and is no longer needed.
