He will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears from all faces; he  will remove his people’s disgrace from all the earth. The LORD has spoken.

Oakes Museum summer events

Summer is almost here and we have many exciting activities at the Oakes Museum. Be sure to check out our Saturday Curator Club for grades 3-5 and CC2 for grades 6-8. We are adding some exciting family programs in July and August, including a family day where your whole family can visit for only $10! Plus, five lab classes will be offered beginning in August. We will also offer three “Super Saturdays” with special activities including hikes, behind the scenes tours and exhibit talks. Admission to Super Saturdays is FREE to the Messiah College community. For more details visit our website: http://www.messiah.edu/oakes

Summer workshops

Summer workshops on digital proficiency, student engagement and other technology related topics are held Thursday mornings at 9 a.m. in Hoffman’s Innovation Zone. Learn more and register through the Training Channel in MC Square found at the bottom of the Educator’s tab. Registering through MC Square allows you to add the workshop to your Outlook calendar with a single click. If you are interested in one of these topics, but are unable to attend the scheduled session, please contact Learning Technology Services at learningtechservices@messiah.edu with a time and date that is convenient to you.

The spring BRIDGE has arrived

The spring Bridge is here! Be sure to read the article “Raptor hand project helps little girl,” a story about our Collaboratory students who built a prosthetic hand for a 5-year-old in the Philadelphia area. Hard copies of the magazine can be found in Eisenhower and Boyer employee lounges and always in the reception area of the third floor of Old Main.

Expiring ID cards

If your Messiah College employee ID Card has an expiration date and that date is approaching, please visit the Falcon Exchange, 243 Eisenhower Campus Center, to receive a new Employee ID Card. If you do not have an expiration date on your ID card, no action is required. You do not need to wait until the expiration date on the card to be issued a replacement card. ID cards will no longer function for print, copy, dining or door access once they reach the expiration date on the card so it is imperative you replace your card prior to the expiration date. Employees needing new ID cards should visit Falcon Exchange in person. Please bring your existing ID card with you and allow 10-15 minutes for processing. There is no charge for your new employee ID Card. Please contact Falcon Exchange at 717-766-2511, ext. 7245 or falconexchange@messiah.edu with any questions.

RightNow Media offered free to all employees

Messiah College has subscribed to RightNow Media to make this library of video resources available free of charge to interested students, employees, parents and alumni of the college. RightNow Media provides a range of resources–entertainment, bible study materials, conference keynote addresses, sermons, ministry training, children’s videos, etc. This resource is being offered through a generous gift to the college so that you can enjoy these resources without any cost to you or your family. On June 1, you should have received an introductory email from RightNow Media that would allow you to sign-up for this online resource. They also sent out three reminder emails. Some employees thought it may have been a hoax and others saw this email in their junk folder. It is not; over 1,130 members of the Messiah community have already signed up for this free service. Please note that making these resources available to the Messiah community does not implicitly or explicitly suggest that the College endorses the content or perspectives presented by every resource. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email jmcclymont@messiah.edu.
