A Collaboratory team of seven students and five advisors returned on June 1 from Oaxaca, Mexico where they completed the construction of a pedestrian truss bridge for the community, working with Trigo y Miel (wheat and honey) through Forward Edge International. The team accomplished their two-week goal of getting the bridge up before the start of the rainy season, when flooding rains keeps some children from getting to the ministry meals. Brian Swartz, Andy Erikson, Scott Heisey, and adjunct Doug Stumpp (all ENGR) advised the team, which included engineering students Erika Boice, Erin Brenneman, Daniel Gallagher, Daniel Mewha, Connor Reyer, and Nathan Yeoman as well as music and Spanish major Hannah Snavely.
