Nov. 21

“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil is against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Matthew 5: 11-12

Dec. 3 campus Christmas gathering

All employees and students are encouraged to welcome the holiday season with a campus Christmas gathering on Dec. 3 from 4:30 – 5 p.m. Join us near the Murray Library steps for lively Christmas music, a short Advent reflection from Dr. George Pickens, seasonal refreshments and hot drinks.

Chapel credit will be offered.

Thanksgiving Chapel – Tuesday, Nov. 26

All employees are invited to join with students in a combined chapel service at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, in Brubaker Auditorium. The service will include a message from community pastor Stephen Gallaher as well as a celebration of communion. Recognizing and respecting that members of our community represent a broad range of Christian traditions with a variety of practices surrounding communion, we wanted to give you the opportunity to prepare for this chapel service in whatever way you may need. For some, that may involve a conversation with your pastor or priest. In keeping with the theological heritage of Messiah University, we will celebrate an open table. This means all who desire to follow Jesus are welcome to partake in this holy meal He instituted. Please know that if you attend, you are free to choose whether (or not) to receive communion.

Traveling with the Collaboratory

The Collaboratory sends teams internationally every year, usually after May development week, and we are always looking for possible advisors to co-lead with an engineering professor. This year we are likely traveling to Cuba, Zambia, Guatemala, Honduras, Peru and Kenya. If you would be interested in co-advising a trip, please email bwatkins@messiah.edu. Trips are usually around 2 weeks long. Thanks!
