ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

Dwayne Safer, associate professor of finance, recently taught a month-long series of workshops to the Girls Who Invest (GWI) program on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania. GWI is a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the number of women in portfolio management and leadership in the asset management industry. Each summer, GWI’s summer college program consists of four weeks of training where the scholars learn core finance and investment topics followed by a seven-week internship at leading global investment management firms. The 2023 cohort, consisting of rising junior undergraduates, included 215 students from 80 universities representing 75 different majors.
