Do you send emails on behalf of Messiah University (apart from Outlook)?
The Messiah University ITS team continues to add improvements that keep the University and end users safe from cyber threats. If you use software other than Outlook to send email to constituents off campus, we need to make sure your emails are included in Messiah’s DMARC policy. Even if you only send emails one time a year, we need to include the information in our DMARC policy. For more detailed information, please see the mass email on 9/1 titled “Enhancing Email Security at Messiah University.”
Questions to consider:
• Do you use a website, software, or program other than Outlook to send email to external groups?
• Does your office have a service account or group mailbox that is listed as the sender for emails to external sources?
• Does the website, software or program you use send emails notifications as you (i.e. you@messiah.edu responded to your request)?

1. Contact your vendors and software providers and request the following information:
A. Vendor DNS Record
B. IP Address for Public Mail Servers
2. Forward that information to security@messiah.edu.

B. Include the Vendor Name, DNS Record, and IP Addresses.
C. It would be helpful to include the contact information for the account representative or support contact.
