Messiah University Department of Theatre and Dance presents: “Who Will Carry the Word?”
Messiah University’s Department of Theatre and Dance is proud to present Charlotte Delbo’s moving account of survival in our fall production of “Who Will Carry the Word?” opening on Oct. 5. Tickets are on sale now and are buy-one-get-one free for opening night!
“Who Will Carry the Word?”
Written by Charlotte Delbo
Translation by Cynthia Haft
Directed by Ed Cohn and Carmi Wilmot
Oct. 5 – 7, 8 p.m.
Oct. 8, 3 p.m.
Poorman Black Box Theater, Climenhaga Building
“Who Will Carry the Word?” is a deeply moving recount of French writer Charlotte Delbo’s survival during the Holocaust. The play depicts the atrocities during this unfathomable time in history, painting an emotionally raw picture of enduring the unimaginable. While “Who Will Carry the Word?” is based on existence in concentration camps, it also portrays how in times of despair, mankind comes together—bonded by strength and courage—to find hope and the will to escape a dire fate.
Please note that this performance contains mature content and may not be suitable for all audiences. Viewer discretion is advised.
Estimated run time: 2 hours, including one 10-minute intermission
Tickets: $10—adults; $7—MU students (w/ID), MU employees (w/ID), youth (under 18) and seniors (60+)
*Tickets are buy-one-get-one free for opening night!* Tickets can be purchased online at messiah.edu/tickets, by phone at 717-691-6036, or at the door as available. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more.
